Who knew that squirrels could be such a problem when it comes to roofing installations? Imagine this, a local squirrel (let’s call him Cyril) decided to upgrade his living quarters and move into our customer’s loft space.
The tiny criminal chewed through the roof’s lead flashing (the metal material that is used to keep water out). He chewed his way all the way through and broke into the loft. This is when he started to really get to work.
Once he made his way inside, Cyril went full interior designer. Talk about extreme home makeover, it was as if he was planning a complete renovation. We’re talking a luxury nest made of straw, grass, and moss. But here’s the not-so-funny part – he also thought electrical wires would make great dental floss (spoiler alert: they don’t, and they’re super dangerous).
When or customers realised, they had an intruder they called us in total panic. They had heard weird noises coming from their loft, almost like the little guy was having a party up there. Our team rushed over the next day to evict the furry troublemaker and discover what damage he had done.
The best part? While we were fixing everything, Cyril just sat at the bottom of the garden squeaking and squawking and looking completely devastated. He made us feel like the bad guys, when he had caused all this hassle.
Moral of the story? Even the cutest criminals can cause serious damage. If you hear suspicious scampering in your loft, don’t wait -give us a call before your unwanted roommate invites their whole squad over! We want to make sure our work for you is complete as quickly and efficiently as possible, with minimal furry disruptions.
P.S. Cyril is fine, just slightly offended and house-hunting elsewhere (preferably in a tree this time). I’m sure in due course, he will find the perfect home, just hopefully not one that belongs to one of our customers!
